It is reported that Everton are keen on Chelsea striker Franco di Santo who is currently on loan at Rovers.
The Mirror claims Moyes made a personal check on the forward at the weekend.
It appears Everton may be planning to take Di Santo on a permanent transfer while Rovers are seeking to extend the loan period until the end of the season.
The Ewood Park club will then launch a cash offer to secure a long-term deal.

David Beckham: Milan Striker Marco Borriello Is Very Handsome ‘Becks’ was left impressed by the San Siro crowd’s warm welcome, as well as by his team-mate's "handsome" looks.
Jan 7, 2010 12:00:21 PM Photo Gallery Zoom Beckham-Criscito - Milan-Genoa- Serie A (Getty Images) Related Links Players David Beckham English international midfielder David Beckham was pleased with his debut performance of his second stint with Serie A side AC Milan as the Diavoli thrashed Genoa 5-2 at the San Siro last night, while he seems to have found a new rival in the pin-up stakes.
The 34-year-old was given a warm reception by the Rossoneri faithful and told Sky Italia after the match: “I am very happy, the fans were incredible. I am really enjoying this moment.
“Six months have gone by, but nothing has changed and I truly felt the warmth of the crowd.”
Beckham spent the second part of last season in Italy's fashion capital on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy and opted to to re-join the Serie A giants this term to boost his chances of travelling to South Africa for next summer's World Cup finals.
And England manager Fabio Capello was in the stands to monitor Beckham’s progress as the showpiece event approaches.
“I think I had a good game,” mused the ex-Real Madrid man.
“There are other matches, but I am pleased with the way I started out.”
Beckham is recognised as one of world football's pin-ups, and in England in particular he has been many a teenage girl's dream crush. In Italy, Marco Borriello - who scored twice last night - has achieved similar status with the ladies, and it seems Beckham agrees.
"Borriello is very handsome," smiled 'Golden Balls'.

Serious.....He is still a goal scorer he scored last minuate not long ago for Argentina
Threats from anti-Ronaldo fans are becoming more serious. Cristiano Ronaldo was greeted with hostility by Osasuna fans who want his death: “Cristiano Muerte!” (Cristiano Die!);
This was the song that they chanted in attempt to discourage and distract the former Manchester United playmaker.
It’s not the first time that Cristiano Ronaldo has been subject to intense hostility in La Liga this season. When the Portuguese winger travelled to Barcelona for El Clasico, he was welcomed at the Camp Nou with aggressive chants from the home crowd.
Cristiano Ronaldo was even hit by a laser effect directly pointed into his eyes. The feeling of hatred by Anti-Ronaldo fans against the world’s most expensive players seems to be no joke.
Apparently, many people among Cristiano Ronaldo’s haters want the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year to die. Anti-Ronaldo fans are not ashamed to reveal how much they hate Ronaldo and want him to be hit by death.
Now what looks strange is the fact that nothing seems to be done to stop those hostile death threats against Cristiano Ronaldo.
In that case, from where do Anti-Ronaldo fans find their support?
It’s certainly too delicate to make any speculations over which illustrious person wants Cristiano Ronaldo’s death as well.
Perhaps, no-one even wants Ronaldo’s death apart from die-hard Anti-Ronaldo fans.
How serious are those death threats, how reel could it be that Cristiano Ronaldo succumbs to an attack one of these days?
Maybe, Anti-Ronaldo fans should start feeling ashamed of their immature reactions which somehow prove how great Cristiano Ronaldo is.
EVEN IF U DONT LIKE RONALDO THAT IS HARSH

Ronaldo the most profitable player in Real Madrid's history
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo generates an amazing £70 million-a-year from personal endorsements.
And AS says his management company rejects up to 90% of offers that are tabled because they do not fit into Ronaldo's lifestyle.
It's been revealed Ronaldo recently turned down a €3 million offer to endorse a property development because the photoshoot involved clashed with Real Madrid training.
As part of his transfer to Real, Ronaldo agreed a 50:50 split with the club over money generated from image rights.
So he gets 70 million euro or close to it which is $100 million US dollars then he got signed for 80 million euro (114 million US dollars) for 6 years which is $19 million a year for just soccer then add in the personal endorsements man thats alot of cash.
Things you could buy with Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer fee:
• As many as 1.31 million Apple iPhones. • You can buy 93 Bugatti Veyron cars, each costing 850,000 pounds. • It can fly a person to the International Space Station three times, with spare change of more than 15 million pounds. • You can buy a Big Mac for the entire population of Canada. • It can buy around 138,000 ounces of gold.
